Having a point of contact back home

When planning a trip, you need to find a family member or good friend to assist you. There are four areas you and your point of contact can help out.

Finance Information:

They can assist with having your credit card information, like bank name, phone number, and last four digits on the card.

Travel Information:

You have your point of contact holding on copies of your travel information, like hotel reservations, airline tickets, and transportation documentation. Just in case they are lost or stolen and easy to get back with a simple text.

Checking Your Home:

Have your point of contact check the house and ensure it looks live-in, like putting away trash cans and newspapers. They would collect mail if you did not set up a mail hold.

Checking In:

It would help if you had someone you could communicate with during your travels. Mostly overseas, I text my point of contact photos of the taxi or Uber. Notify when you arrive or depart from a hotel or site visit. Just in case something happens, you have someone who knows what is going on with your trip.

These are just helpful suggestions for a safe trip!
