In 1999 Founder Jay Claxton started HotelSafety.ORG as a web site for hotel security professionals and tourism policing. Working with Anaheim Police department in Orange County California and Orange County Sheriff Department, in Florida.
The site was used to share information on criminal activity in the area with other hotels and departments in the area. As Anaheim and Orange County Sheriff Department had strong tourism policing department and strong connections with their communities, like the Crime Alert Bulletins.
After time the site slowly stopped being used and sat dormant for some time now.
On March 5, 2021 Jay finally put the site back up, clean the cobwebs and started a blog as well, assisting travelers and hotel/resorts at the same time.
